In a friend's throw-away log pile I found this Tasmanian blackwood. This piece comes from the junction of branches an area which grows under pressure. Rich in grain and character, it is a pleasure to work. Tasmanian blackwood has softer sapwood; the damp, growing section of the tree. But its strength is in the nutrient-rich sapwood being converted to darker heartwood. The darkness of this heartwood is what gives this beautiful timber its name. Growth under pressure, navigated well, give us even more strength, and wisdom to pass on to others. This product has been carefully finished in environmentally friendly natural oils and waxes.
