Made from a juvenile rimu log this piece has a dark stain of grey, likely from moisture penetration after felling. I was given a piece of kauri that had been extracted from a river after years of submersion. It is so unusual in colour but picks up the rimu’s grey patch beautifully. What we are immersed in will soak into us, we are wise to choose our rivers carefully.
This product has been carefully finished in environmentally friendly natural oils and waxes.
